Never Look at the Empty Seats

If what you do pleases them, they'll be back and probably bring somebody else with them. And it snowballs. That's how you build a following. Bring your “A” game every night, and never look at the empty seats.

~ Charlie Daniels

Some of the best advice for business and life is summed up in this quote from Charlie Daniels.

I love his music.

But his philosophy for living is timeless and especially timely in our world today.

So many people focus on what they are lacking instead of what they have been given.

You don’t need anything more than what you have right now to create something meaningful and worthy of someone’s attention.

You already have everything you need.

I hear people all the time who say, “as soon as I get ____, then I can go to the next level.”

They are procrastinating because they think they need something else in order to move forward.

They are looking at the empty seats.

Focused on what they don’t have instead of what they do.

And even worse, they do it with people too.

They focus on the relationships they don’t have in their life instead of the ones right in front of them.

This week, I encourage you to take what you have and do something that inspires others to want to join you.

Stop looking at the empty seats.

Own the stage you are on right now and pour into the people who showed up.

Be grateful for all that you have. Focus on what you are becoming.

When you become more, you can deliver more, and when you deliver more you attract more.

Pour your best stuff into the next performance.

Give everything you’ve got to the people in the arena with you.

Do these things and a legion of fans will beat a path to your door. And most likely, they will bring others along with them to fill those empty seats.
